Frequently Asked Questions

What meals will be catered?

Meals We're Providing

We’re organising a welcome BBQ (vegan of course) on the first night (Friday), and we’re providing dinner on the wedding day itself (Sunday) and a brunch the following morning for everyone to relax and eat before heading onwards.

We have amazing caterers for the wedding day itself, so you certainly won't go hungry!

Optional Meals

On Saturday, the plan is to do a buffet lunch and pasta making / pizza making in the evening.

We'll organize a head count closer to the time of everyone interested in these, and arrange a price-per-person with the venue depending on the number of people interested.

The venue is made up of a collection of self-catering apartments, cottages, and villas. There is a grocery store about a 10 minute drive away.

What's the dress code?

The usual for weddings (dust off your fancy stuff). Our only caution is to bring sturdy footwear in case you need to hike across some soft ground to the ceremony. So maybe no stilettos unless you have a change of footwear handy!

Colour code - please no neons and limited black. Colours encouraged are autumnal ones - aubergine, raspberry, greens, dark blues, dark oranges, dark reds… you get the idea.

Also, bring your top hats and canes for the murder mystery later in the evening.

Will there be a schedule, or can I do my own thing?

There’s a schedule! We have plans from Friday evening through to Monday morning. However, we’re expecting some people will want to do their own thing on the Saturday, so the activities then are completely optional, as is the Yoga on the Sunday morning.

When you arrive, you’ll receive a programme, so you can keep up and join in/slope off as you like.

Once we have everyone’s email and RSVPs, we’ll take headcounts and organise the activities.

Can I take pictures at the ceremony?

We hope that you'll have many happy memories from this weekend and that you'll fill up your Instagram feed, too, if that's your thing! But for the wedding ceremony itself, please sit back, enjoy, and leave the photo-taking job to our two very talented professional photographers.

Please take a look at this page, which will answer all your questions.

How do I get there?

Have a look at the location page. We are both experienced travellers in Italy, so let us know if we can help you plan your route.

Do I need to learn Italian?

You won't need it for our wedding! You'll find English signs and English-speaking customer service staff in Italian airports and major train stations.

If you're planning to stay longer and explore outside the major tourist cities, then learning some basic Italian phrases for busses and trains can be helpful. English is widely spoken in cities, thanks to all the tourists, but you'll find it harder to communicate in the smaller towns.

What is there to do?

There’s an infinity pool and beautiful hiking trails at the venue itself. There's also mountain biking. We don't think you'll be stuck for things to do over the wedding weekend, but if you're staying for longer then the venue is a fantastic starting point for day trips within Umbria. The venue have done their own guide, which you can find here:

https://www.collesanpaolo.it/en/holiday-at-trasimeno-lake/

If you'll be touring around, we recommend picking up a good guidebook, like Rick Steves or Lonely Planet.

Hey, I don't know anyone else! Will I be left out?!

Absolutely not! As we are two people who have rarely stayed in one place longer than a year and have invited our friends from all over the world ... if you do know other people, either you're family, or it's you who's the anomaly! There will be plenty of opportunities to meet people, and it's a small wedding so you won't just meet everyone for a handshake and that's it.
