I Casali di Colle San Paolo,

in beautiful Umbria, Italy

Why Italy?

We’ve had the question ‘why Italy’ a lot, so… why Italy?

Aside from it being a beautiful country with wonderful weather and food, it’s also where we met three years ago (read about that here). We’ve invited guests from 4 continents, 10 countries, and 5 US states, which means that everyone has to fly in, and we wanted to make it somewhere truly special!

I Casali di Colle San Paolo is on top of a hill, near the beautiful and vibrant city of Perugia, and the historical Assisi. It's in Umbria, on the border of Tuscany. So between Rome and Florence.

Below is a guide on how to get to us. As we get a better idea of what people’s plans are, we’ll take a note of people arriving at the same time so we can make it as easy and smooth as possible for you.

The venue coordinates with local taxi companies, who can collect you either from the airport or the train station.

Airports

Rome

We recommend flying into one of Rome's airpots, which are likely to have the cheapest flights. From Rome, you can hire a car or take a train, or share a minibus taxi if you're arriving at a similar time to other guests.

Perugia

Perugia has its own airport, which is a lot smaller than Rome's and doesn't have as many cheap flights. However, it's worth checking, as this is naturally the easiest option! Perugia is only 40 minutes away.

Florence

You can also fly to Florence, which is about an hour and a half away to drive.

Getting to the venue

Some guests will want to rent cars and explore, but if you want to keep things more relaxed (or if the thought of tiny Italian roads make you want to hide under the couch) then that’s fine too - we’ll make sure everyone can get about!

When you've booked your flights, we'll try to link you up with other guests so you can come together.

CAR HIRE

You're good with a stick shift, right?

Car Hire

If you plan on hiring a car, organise it before arriving - as hiring once you’re here is very expensive. There's plenty of parking space available.

The road up is steep and winding, so keep this in mind when choosing model and engine size. Italian drivers are fearless and a little crazy. And remember, Italy drives on the right!

Most car hire companies will have only manual transmission cars available (or automatics for a much higher price).

If you're stuck, ask!

If you have any questions, let us know! We’ve both travelled extensively in Italy, and we're happy to help. Once you’ve booked your flights, please forward us the details so we can link you up with others and help you work out the easiest route.
